Why do I have to take this training?
Because state law requires that institutions of higher education provide an ongoing information security awareness education program for all users of state-owned information resources. (TAC §202.77)
TAMUS has elected to fulfill this requisite by requiring that users complete Security Awareness Training annually. (SAP 24.99.99.M1.19 Information Resources - Security Awareness and Training)
How often must I take this training?
Once a year.
How do I know that I've successfully completed the training?
You'll see a certificate of completion and a message on a separate webpage indicating that "Your completion has been successfully recorded in TrainTraq."
I don't know my UIN. How can I find out what it is?
You can contact your department/agency administrator. This is usually the administrative support person in your department that handles HR, payroll, and related issues. A list of HR contact numbers is provided here.
Isn't my UIN the same as my Social Security number?
No, your UIN is not the same as your Social Security number. The Texas A&M University System has moved away from using Social Security numbers as an identifier/authentication credential (i.e., a way to identify its users), so to protect the privacy and identity of individuals.
I don't know my ADLOC number. How can I find out what it is?
You can contact your department/agency administrator. This is usually the administrative support person in your department that handles HR, payroll, and related issues. A list of HR contact numbers is provided here.
I can't remember my SSO password. How can find out what it is?
No method exists for determining a forgotten SSO password. You may reset to a new temporary password by using the following link https://sso.tamu.edu/Wizards/RequestTempPassword.aspx.
My SSO account is locked. What should I do?
Contact your SSO administrator. This is usually the administrative support person in your department that handles HR, payroll, and related issues. If you cannot find an administrator in your department, contact your central HR office for assistance. A list of central administrator contact numbers/HR department numbers is provided here.
Who should I contact for technical help?
If you are experiencing technical difficulties, please contact your department's IT support person.

I completed this training less than a year ago. Why am I being notified to take it again?
If you recently changed jobs within the University (from like a University extension service to another part). They will need to contact their HR person for their department to get that individual to give them credit for the previous training.
I took the Student Information Security Awareness Training less than a year ago, but have now become a full-time employee. Do I need to take the Staff version of the training?
Yes.
Who can tell me whether or not I've taken the training?
ITIM can only look up employees of Texas A&M University.
If you are not a TAMU employee, you can contact your department/agency administrator. This is usually the administrative support person in your department that handles HR, payroll, and related issues. A list of HR contact numbers is provided here.
I am retired and no longer work at A&M. Do I need to take this training?
If you're still using a TAMU/state-owned IT resource, you need to take the training. Otherwise, you do not have to take the training.
I never use a computer at work. Do I have to take this training?
You may not have to if you can obtain a written statement from your department head, verifying that your job doesn't require the use of any state-owned IT resources.
If I log out or am automatically logged out before I complete the training, will I have to retake the quizzes I've already passed?
No. The training keeps track of your progress (i.e., it remembers what page you were last on and what quizzes you've completed or attempted).
